Job Seeker Terms

Welcome to Cooper (the "Platform"), operated by CooperHire GmbH (hereinafter "CooperHire," "we," "us," or "our"). These Job Seeker Terms ("Terms") govern your access and use of our candidate-facing services. By creating an account or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to these Terms.


1. About Us & Branding

  • Legal Entity: CooperHire GmbH is registered in Germany with its business address at Rheinsberger Str. 76/77, 10115 Berlin, C/O FactoryWorks GmbH.
  • Brand Name: "Cooper" is our operating brand. Any references to "Cooper" shall be deemed references to CooperHire GmbH, the contracting party.
  • Managing Directors: Sohraab Joshi, Amar Ahlers

2. Eligibility & Onboarding

  • Minimum Age: You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform.
  • Registration: To complete onboarding, you must speak with Coo (our AI assistant) long enough for it to understand your experience, preferences, and career goals. If you do not complete this conversation, your account may remain in a limited or pending status.
  • Contact Details: You agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information (e.g., email, phone number) and to keep it current.
  • Special Category Data: During your interactions with Coo, you may voluntarily share information that could be considered sensitive personal data. By checking the designated box during registration, you explicitly consent to our processing of any such sensitive information you choose to share.

3. Scope of Service

Cooper provides AI-driven recruitment and job-search assistance by identifying suitable roles and facilitating introductions to prospective employers. We do not guarantee job offers, interviews, or employment outcomes.


4. Use of AI & Conversations

AI Accuracy

Coo is powered by large language models and may occasionally generate inaccurate or speculative responses ("hallucinations"). Suggestions or outputs from Coo should not be considered definitive professional advice. If you have questions or concerns, please contact us directly at [email protected].

AI Conversations

Our service includes voice or chat-based conversations initiated by or involving Coo, which may record and transcribe your input to better understand your professional background and preferences. These interactions help improve the quality of job matching.

No Binding Agreements with the AI

Conversations with Coo (whether via voice or text) do not create legal or contractual obligations. All employment agreements must be made directly with prospective employers, and any legal or financial agreements with CooperHire must be in writing, signed by an authorised representative.


5. Introductions & Data Sharing

  • Automatic Introductions: By creating an account and completing onboarding, you acknowledge and agree that we may automatically share your candidate profile and relevant personal information with potential employers we reasonably believe match your experience and interests.
  • Opt-Out Option: You can change your settings at any time to opt out of automatic introductions and require explicit consent before any profile sharing occurs.
  • Revocation of Consent: You may withdraw consent or request to stop further sharing of your profile at any time by adjusting your preferences or contacting us at [email protected].

6. Indemnification & Liability

  • No Guarantee: We provide the Platform "as is" and do not guarantee job placement, interviews, or any particular hiring outcome.
  • Limitation of Liability: To the extent permitted by law, CooperHire is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (such as lost opportunities or data) arising from the use of the Platform or reliance on AI outputs, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.
  • Reasonable Efforts: We take reasonable steps to ensure AI quality but cannot guarantee perfect results due to the inherent limitations of AI technology.

7. Code of Conduct & Enforcement

Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Submit false or misleading information
  • Engage in harassment, hate speech, or discrimination
  • Disrupt or attempt to compromise the Platform’s security

Enforcement

We reserve the right to investigate, suspend, or terminate accounts at our sole discretion if we detect violations of these Terms or suspicious activity. Enforcement measures may include warnings, account restrictions, or permanent bans.


8. User-Generated Content

  • CVs, Profiles & Other Files: You may upload documents (e.g., CVs). By doing so, you confirm that you have the legal right to share such materials.
  • Licence to Use: You grant Cooper a non-exclusive, global licence to store, process, and use this content for recruiting and related services.
  • Ownership: We do not claim ownership of your uploaded content. However, we may retain copies for as long as your account remains active unless you request deletion.

9. Marketing Communications

  • Soft Opt-In: By providing your email or phone number, you consent to receiving relevant job alerts, product updates, or marketing messages.
  • Opt-Out: You can unsubscribe from marketing messages at any time via email or through an unsubscribe link (if provided).
  • Future Campaigns: We may launch additional newsletters or promotional campaigns. These Terms allow for such communications under a soft opt-in model, which you can opt out of at any time.

10. Governing Law & International Use

  • Jurisdiction: These Terms are governed by German law. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Berlin, Germany.
  • International Use: If you access or use the Platform from outside Germany, you do so at your own risk and are responsible for complying with local laws.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. We will inform you of material changes by email or via a prominent notification on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after such notice constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms will be reviewed and updated within six (6) months of the Effective Date to reflect evolving practices and user feedback.
